HootUpChicago With SMC Chicago During Social Media Week

hootsuite-techweek-2012If it’s anything like last year, Social Media Week Chicago will have this town buzzing for months.

Now a late September tradition, and an international event, Social Media Week 2012 is September 24-28.

Social Media Week Chicago Events

All events are free to attend and open to the public.  The week includes many speaker and panel discussions, networking events and more, all focused on the theme Empowering Change Through Collaboration. Topics include Business; Media & Entertainment; Technology & Innovation; Politics & Government and Art & Culture.

According to Social Media Week, in 2011 Chicago’s team hosted more than 80 events with 200 speakers and upwards of 7,000 registrants.

Join SMC Chicago at Social Media Week

I’m excited to be a part of Social Media Club Chicago’s Social Media Week event.

As an SMC Chicago board member, I’m looking forward to listening to my peers talk about what makes social media tick.

Our event is September 27 at 5:30 at the Illini Center. Because I’m a University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign College of Commerce alum, I’m thrilled to be at my alma mater’s venue.

And, I’m excited to say that #HootUpChicago is our event hashtag. Why? Because Hootsuite is SMC Chicago’s September social media sponsor.

About the Post Picture

I’m a huge Hootsuite fan. That’s me, Ruth Wagner and MJ Tam with Ryan Holmes, Hootsuite’s CEO at TechWeek Chicago. After taking a few proper posed shots, Ryan suggested we have fun. So, we did. How do you have fun with social media?
