Almost two years ago, when I read Rohit Bhargava’s social media bio post, I said, “Hey! I’ve got to do that and I’ve got to write about how cool it is to do that.” Time flies . . . and this format came back to me as I was preparing my presentation for job seekers that’s taking place about a week from now.
In May 2007, I took the first version of my social media bio to an Internet marketing conference and passed it out to everyone with the explanation that this was a new credential format I was testing and I wanted to get their feedback. I got lots of favorable comments.
Here’s the latest version, updated today. Click on the image to expand it or read it in it’s entirety below. It’s not as cool as Rohit’s. But, the Word.doc format works well for anyone who wants to give a timeline at-a-glance overview. You’ll see mine focuses on marketing and technology. It’s easy to email, fax or print out.
This format won’t work for everybody. There will still be times when people will want to see a formal resume. I’m working on updating that format with suggestions for my presentation now.

I really like it Barbara. For one, it has that “bullet-point” feel to it and I love that. As of 09 it seems that the success of the microblog platform has shown that people are communicating in a completely different way. Short bursts of information that are right to the point. You’re bio nailed it. Great job.
