Besides being an accomplished marketing and PR strategist, Barbara is known for her edgy, grounded and prophetic speaking events.

Barbara loves to share her passion for effective online communication, both virtually and in person. Along with publishing her blog posts here on WiredPRWorks, she founded the Social Media Club (SMC) Chicago in 2008. Shortly thereafter, she was honored by GM and Chicagonista as one of Chicago’s top social media mavens. Today, Barbara leads the 2600 SMC members in producing events which mix education and networking–often in partnership with major conferences.

Bringing Social Media to the Masses

Besides keynoting, Barbara offers significant training expertise.

Barbara’s training experience began nearly 15 years ago as a corporate national sales training manager. Through CoryWest Media, she is able to continue teaching and training–though now both in college classrooms and as a conference speaker.

Barbara also created the Marketing Transformations Process and The Accelerated Marketing Plan, These systems blend her experience as a sales trainer, agency owner, marketing consultant and social media enthusiast into lively, dynamic programs that start working while her students are still in the room. In August 2009, Ragan Communications even tapped Barbara’s talent to develop Twitter 101 and Twitter and PR programs for their Social Media Boot Camp.
