Conference Coverage 145 Tweets

I like to cover conferences. If you know me, you know that. Do you like to share conferences?

Covering and sharing are two different things – or are they? To me sharing, happens via social media. Coverage can, too.

Today I’m combining the two to bring you shared coverage from people I talked to on twitter about what was happening at UnGeeked in Chicago. Thanks to CD Vann, the visionary behind UnGeeked for bringing the conference to Chicago over the weekend.

By the way, that’s me with Anita Campbell who publishes SmallBizTrends.com I’ve always wanted to meet Anita and was looking forward to seeing her speak. Anita is an inspiring woman who models publishing success.

During the course of six hours or so, my tweets tracked presentations by Anita, Chris Heuer, Olivier Blanchard. Joshua Garity and Jeff Power.

Hearing them speak was enlightening. As I listened, I shared what I found interesting and relevant on twitter. You’ll see the twitter transcript here with keypoints in bold. Thanks to EVERYONE who retweeted and contributed to the community dialogue.

What jumps out at you?

Hijacker Awareness Alert for Brands and Creative Work

The last question our personal branding panel got at Affiliate Summit West was, to me, curious, “What would you do if someone hijacked your brand?” Being an overly trusting person, I never thought about the possibility of someone intentionally hijacking your brand – or your work. Yet, it’s happened to me before. Recently I discovered that it’s happened again. Can people really be that clueless? After dashing off a quick email with links to the sites to a few peers and getting their advice, I’m coming out with a warning: take it down or I’m coming after you. And, I’m also telling you how we can work together. Here’s why . . .
