Teaching High School Students to Network on LinkedIn for College Success

college-success-networking-linkedinNow that LinkedIn is open to students as young as 13, and offers a LinkedIn site for University pages, high school students may want to take a break from Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to learn about networking and personal branding.

A new online course, “Get Linked Into College Success and Beyond,” teaches personal branding, networking and LinkedIn success skills.

Here’s the backstory on how I created this networking course for high school and college students.

Thanks to Gary Zidek of WDCB radio for interviewing me about how high school students can upgrade their social media presence.

Students Starting to Network for College Success in High School

“An Associated Press data analysis from earlier this year found that approximately 1.5 million American bachelor’s degree holders under the age of 25 were jobless or underemployed last year. Chicago-area social media expert Barbara Rozgonyi is helping young people refine their on-line networking skills. She tells WDCB News Reporter Gary Zidek it isn’t just college students, more and more high school students are starting to work on their social media presence.” Source: WDCB Public Radio

Snapchat Demonstrates the Value of Temporary Social Media

How much is Snapchat really worth? Who’s interested in temporary social media and ephemeral content marketing? Is it only teens? Back in April, MIT released its annual top 10 technology breakthroughs list. Temporary social media apps, like Snapchat, made the list. Messages that quickly self-destruct could enhance the privacy of online communication and make people […]
