Thanks for your question, Annette. In checking the latest on twitter, I saw a few links that might interest you: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=social+media%2C+government If you see someone who is talking about a topic you're interested in, you can find out how to contact them from the link in their twitter profile. Or, if you have a twitter account you can chat with them directly. Here's a story about how one county government exec used twitter as a newsbreaker: http://tr.im/gJwe. The Obama administration is putting out a call for stories, as you can see here: http://www.recovery.gov/?q=content/share-your-experience Locally, our high school added an additional requirement for social studies so that our students will be better prepared to be tell their stories and serve as civic leaders.

I've been researching how the gov will be using social media for transparency and possibly using the collective input for saving money, cutting programs, etc. I'm thinking about the stories aspect. Do you know of any good examples already up and running?
